Working principle

The flotation machine comprises several key components:

Slurry Tank: Holds the ore slurry.

Mixing Device: Ensures thorough mixing of the slurry.

Aeration Device: Introduces air into the slurry to create bubbles.

Mineralized Bubble Discharging Device: Separates mineralized bubbles from the slurry.

Motor: Powers the machine.


Working Principle of the Flotation Machine

The flotation machine operates on a principle of centrifugal force and negative pressure zones. As the impeller rotates, the slurry in the upper and lower impeller chambers generates centrifugal force. This force, combined with the action of the upper and lower blades, twists the slurry to the periphery, creating negative pressure zones. The slurry from the upper part of the cover plate is drawn into the upper impeller cavity through circulation holes, facilitating slurry circulation.

Simultaneously, the lower blade draws out the surrounding slurry, causing the lower slurry to replenish the center, forming a lower circulation. Air is drawn into the upper impeller chamber via a suction pipe and central cylinder, mixing with the slurry to produce fine bubbles. These bubbles disperse uniformly in the groove, forming mineralized bubbles that float to the foam layer. The mineralized bubbles are then scraped off by a scraper, resulting in a foam product.


Corollary Equipment

In front of the flotation machine, one or two sets of mixing tanks are used for flotation agent agitation and slurry pulp agitation. Behind the flotation machine, a concentrate pond, thickener, or filter may be used.

The number of flotation cells and the type of flotation reagent (foaming agent, collecting agent, activating agent, inhibitor, etc.) are determined based on the ore grade, mineral type, and processing capacity. It is recommended to conduct mineral flotation tests to obtain the best procedure plan, including pulp density, time, and reagent selection.
